At TGBS we are committed to improving and celebrating reading success for all. Recently, Mr Green escorted a bespoke group of pupils to Peter’s bookshop in Birmingham to select new non fiction books for the library.
The were selected based on their successful reading age improvements based on recent assessments and interventions. Other pupils were those who have read the most of our 16 by 16 initiative. The boys were also gifted a book of their choice as a reward for the improvement in reading.
As part of the DFE’s national Year of Reading, we will be conducting more reading based rewards trips in order to foster a love of reading and desire to improve a repertoire of reading material.
